The most often question we are asked: “Which clinic should I go to?” The answer is there are no "one size fits all" clinics, and the best option for you may not be the best option for the next person. The true "best clinic" for you will depend on on many factors (i.e. where you live, cancer type, stage, treatments offered, etc.). In order to help you find "the" clinic, we developed this directory so that you can quickly compare your options -- saving you weeks of time researching around the Internet. From doctor interviews, treatments and costs, to funding options, you can find it all here on CancerTutor.com

Hands Together and Money on Table

How much do clinics cost?

Treatments vary in cost, the length of time, and protocols. Treatments range between $4,000 and $15,000 per week and typically are not covered by traditional insurance policies. Treatment costs are determined by the specific needs of each patient. No two cancer patients are alike, so treatments may vary.

Some clinics are in-patient facilities while others are out-patient facilities, requiring you to arrange local stays for weeks at a time. Depending on your condition and how you respond to initial treatments, some clinics may require you to return multiple times a year, for weeks at a time.

The one constant is that all of our recommended clinics will require you to be on a strict protocol at home. This is crucial to your overall success. It is imperative that you faithfully execute the details of your protocol outlined by your doctor.

How to fund?

If you have been diagnosed with cancer and decide to pursue a natural or integrative protocol, traditional insurance policies most likely will not cover the cost of treatments. However, there are other options to help ensure that everyday financial responsibilities do not become overwhelming.

Big picture, there are different types of costs related to your care -- the type cancer treatment, travel costs to see the doctor, food, lodging, medications. It's important to carefully budget for the assistance you may need. Also, don't be short-sighted; your daily life is changing and this will be a long-term battle physically, emotionally, and financially.

If insurance does not cover the cost of your treatments, there are organizations that help people with cancer who are facing financial challenges to offset the cost of treatment, travel, transportation, housing, and more.

German cancer clinics

A common misconception among Cancer Tutor readers is that all German cancer clinic are the cream of the crop, the ultimate in natural or alternative cancer treatments. This is a case of perception – not reality. The first thing you need to understand is there are only a small number of German cancer clinics that use alternative medicine.

A majority of German cancer clinics use orthodox treatments. The same orthodox treatments with the same success rates as those used in the United States. In researching for the right cancer clinic, it is paramount to find a clinic that uses alternative medicine.

For an in-depth look at these clinics, read German Cancer Breakthrough by Andrew Scholberg. The book is based on first-person reporting; Scholberg visited the clinics and interviewed the doctors and patients. German Cancer Breakthrough is an excellent resource to learn about 10 of the major German alternative cancer clinics and is a key resource for details about each clinic.

As you consider a German clinic, research those that offer alternative treatments such as whole body hyperthermia (“fever therapy”), localized hyperthermia, oxygen therapy, mistletoe therapy, magnetic field therapy, art therapy, colonic hydrotherapy, etc.

OK, so you're thinking, "What does art therapy have to do with cancer?" A common treatment that sets apart the good German cancer clinics is art therapy, which is symbolic of the attitude of the German clinics. They want the patient to forget about cancer, be creative and have a positive mental attitude. Psychology is important in these clinics, which often are inpatient facilities. You and your caretaker stay on site and enjoy a “bed and breakfast” feel.

Above all else, as you research cancer treatments and clinics, know your options. Talk with your doctor and family. Discuss the results of your research. Make a decision that your heart is comfortable with. Where and how you treat cancer is your choice.

*Disclaimer* Cancer Tutor recommends that patients consult with a medical doctor before beginning any cancer protocol. A medical professional is required by law to administer many of the treatments discussed on this website. We have gathered this list of clinics and doctors for educational purposes only and are not recommending a specific treatment or doctor for your case.

A clinic is not a guaranteed cure. Typically, doctors treat patients for 3-4 weeks as a jump start to get them on a path to a healthy recovery. After that, the patient has to focus on their body to remain healthy. For many patients, this is the most difficult part. Your due diligence is paramount in the fight against the disease.

Overcoming cancer -- whether through conventional, natural, or integrative means -- depends on you. Different stages of this disease will require assistance, some more than others. However, you are the No. 1 factor with care and guidance from a medical/health care professional.
